The Pakatakan Trail has its trail head just to the south of Margaretville, New York off of Fair Street and then a little to the north on Southside Road. The trail is known as the Dry Brook Ridge Trail. The trail continues for 7.9 miles before it its the Mill Brook Road parking lot. In the fall and early Spring one can see views to the west, north and east of Pakatakan Mountain. The first part of the trail is rugged before it connects with old logging roads that run across the top of the mountain.
